GOD, THE GOOD SHEPHERD TEXT: Ezekiel 34:25-31SUMMARY: God will restore mankind to a spiritual Covenant by saving them from deception, by leading them to the garden, and by providing them with everything they need to live a spiritual life.GOD IS OUR SHEPHERD BY WAY OF A NEW COVENANT— The Covenant of Peace and the Garden of RenownA. V. 25- A Covenant Foretold—Ezek. 34:25. “I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.” The Shepherd leads us to good pasture — The Garden of Renown.—A place of spiritual life.—A place of safety from the beasts— false teachersB. V. 30- A Covenant Accomplished— Ezek. 34:30. “‘Thus they shall know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,’ says the Lord GOD.” The Shepherd is God.—He is Savior—He is Leader—He is ProviderC. V. 31- A Promise Fulfilled—Ezek. 34:31. “‘You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,’ says the Lord GOD.” The Shepherd loves the sheep.—He teaches the Sheep—He protects the Sheep—He guides the Sheep—He dies for the Sheep
